Menton is Riviera softness with structure.
Ochre facades, marble and slate, gardens and loggias, and warm reflected light that makes a cream floor read as the private interior datum after the threshold.
The light
Light here is usually reflected rather than direct: sea bounce, pale stone and warm facades sending warmth deep into rooms. Interiors here feel ambient, soft and matte.
The materials beside it
Ochre and pale lime plaster, Carrara marble, slate, terracotta/genoise notes, iron-oxide accents and garden greens. The palette wants a cream bridge between cool marble and warmer plaster. The floor belongs as that bridge: warm but quiet, luminous but not bleached.
Why this floor belongs
Menton 1018 already sits in a light cream register. In Menton that becomes useful because the floor can mediate between marble coolness and ochre warmth without shouting. It is the private softness that starts after the threshold, which is exactly the architectural feeling the place supports.
