WHAT THIS FLOOR ACTUALLY IS
Sylt 1140-51 — the floor surface, plank by plank
Sylt, North Sea Germany · 54.91° N · 8.34° E · Pale cool maritime
Handles everyday spills — kitchens and dry interiors, detailed correctly
Water-resistant for everyday use. Not a waterproofing system. Not a flood-proof claim.
Warm underfoot — ready for underfloor heating
Works over underfloor heating. The planks lock to each other with a glueless click and float over the base — a fast, clean install with no adhesive, in many cases straight over an existing floor, and a single plank can be lifted and replaced later.
Made for daily life — chairs, shoes, pets
A hard-wearing commercial-grade surface.
Real long planks — a calmer, continuous floor
Full 1.83 m boards with a fine four-sided micro-bevel — our declared joint.
Ultra-matte — reads as real floor, never plastic
A soft matte surface with no shine.

Good to know Think twice if you want a warm, characterful floor — this is the cool, neutral extreme.

A starting palette · one floor, five companions

A cool, neutral ground asks for cool, clean walls. Pale stone layers quietly; dark stone and iron hold the line.

SYLT 1140-51 · THE WORLD

Sylt is dune restraint.

Reed-thatched massing, brick and weathered timber, pale North Sea light and a floor that reads as one silvered datum rather than a beach-house statement.

The light

The world reads the island light as open, maritime and pale — long even exposure rather than dramatic contrast. Interiors here hold cool daylight softly across matte surfaces, and shadow stays thin. The room feels weather-cleared rather than sunny.

The materials beside it

Reed thatch and the North Frisian house tradition anchor the palette; muted brick, limewash and weathered timber follow as supporting registers, with dune-beige sand notes, chalk white and one slate-blue or sea-grey accent. Timber reads salt-bleached and dry, never honeyed. The palette stays low-chroma so the floor can sit inside one restrained tonal field.

Why this floor belongs

Sylt 1140-51 belongs here because its locked silver-greige can act like the interior equivalent of weathered timber under pale dune light: calm, recessive and structurally quiet. The floor does not imitate driftwood literally; it serves as the one settled horizontal beneath reed, brick and chalk. That keeps the place subordinate to the model. Sylt contributes dune discipline, muted light and material restraint.

The floor under this world stays the real one: Sylt 1140-51, colour measured from the physical plank — the world is read through the model.

BEFORE YOU ASK · WHAT A QUOTE HERE MEANS

A quote is a plan, not a number in the air.

What it includes

A quote is itemised line by line — boards for your area, edge and threshold profiles, and anything else the job needs. Nothing bundled, nothing assumed.

How it arrives

Send the rooms and their approximate area — by form or WhatsApp. A person, not an autoresponder, replies personally with the itemised quote.

Why no public price list

A floor is priced from its specification: the model, the area, the condition of the existing base and the finishing details. A number published before those are known would be a guess — we don’t guess. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

SYLT 1140-51 · 54.91° N · 8.34° E

Some floors have an opinion. This one keeps the room's.

Pale, cool silver-greige — the quietest, most neutral ground we make. Beside oak and sand it reads warm; beside white and steel it turns maritime. The ground takes the temperature of the room.

Furniture changes and walls get repainted. This ground still fits.

Chalk-white · dune-sand · weathered silver oak · blackened steel

If this is the floor that stayed with you — here is how it continues:

Installation is a floating click system — no adhesive.

A person replies — never an autoresponder
